LIFE AT ASHLEA COURT
At Ashlea Court Care Home, our enthusiastic and dedicated Activities Co-ordinators ensure that there is always something going on for our residents. Whether they are continuing their hobbies, or gaining new ones, residents are supported to make the most of each day as they wish.
Internally, we have a range of groups residents can become part of, including Gardening, Baking and Walking groups. Our Daily Activities list is lengthy and features a range of activities from arts and crafts, bowling, bingo, domestic chores, jigsaws and puzzles, card games and quizzes to reminiscence sessions. Residents enjoy Pet Therapy every Sunday, when friendly hound Zia visits after our weekly movie afternoon.
Having our own minibus gives us the flexibility to host regular day trips, too, and residents often make visits to the local Hydrotherapy pool and swimming baths. Residents also enjoy cinema and shopping trips, and seaside trips to Ayr or Troon are greatly appreciated although – unfortunately given our traditional Scottish summers – are weather dependent!
While we have a relaxed atmosphere, and there is no such thing as a typical day at Ashlea Court, we do have some consistency around some of the most important times of the day… meal times. Meals are freshly prepared on site by our very own Chefs.
Breakfast is between 8am and 11am, lunch is served from 12.30-2pm and our evening meal is at 4.30-5.30pm. Visitors are always welcome to pop in during meal times, although we do request that these visits are taken in residents’ rooms rather than our main dining room areas.
Snacks are available 24 hours of the day, with a tea station in each unit. Our menu changes every 4 weeks, with homemade soup and home baking on offer each day. Specialist dietary needs, including Gluten free and dairy free, are also catered for.
Our aim is for all of our residents to relax, unwind and enjoy life at Ashlea Court. We encourage residents to bring personal belongings, to make their room feel as at home as possible. Furniture, ornaments, pictures and posters are welcome, and pets are able to visit by request, too.
