Referrers

Ashlea Court delivers personalised, outcome-focused care with an emphasis on maintaining dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing. Our experienced team supports individuals with a wide range of needs, including chronic health conditions, cognitive decline, frailty, and recovery following illness or hospital discharge. The home is well-equipped to support complex cases with care plans that are regularly reviewed and developed in partnership with external professionals and family members.

We are regulated by the Care Inspectorate and operate with 24-hour nurse cover, an experienced care team, on-site catering, and a full activities programme. Our home has spacious en-suite bedrooms, communal lounges, a dedicated dementia community, and access to specialist equipment and healthcare professionals, including GPs and physiotherapists.

Residential Care

Ashlea Court offers residential care for people who are no longer able to live independently at home, but do not require regular nursing interventions. Residents benefit from a supportive environment with assistance provided for personal care, nutrition, mobility, and medication management. Our care is led by individual assessments and encourages autonomy wherever possible.

The residential care service is ideal for those living with frailty, early-stage dementia, or requiring long-term support due to reduced physical capacity. Daily living is enriched by a structured activities programme and home-cooked meals, with care staff available 24 hours a day to support residents as needs change.

Dementia Care

Ashlea Court has a purpose-built dementia community that supports people living with varying stages of cognitive impairment. The unit is staffed by a team trained in dementia care approaches, including communication strategies and behaviour support, with an emphasis on routine, familiarity, and therapeutic engagement.

We accept referrals for individuals requiring either standard or advanced dementia care, including those with disorientation, memory loss, or behaviours that challenge. Our environment includes clear signage, calm décor, and access to a Namaste Sensory Room, all designed to reduce anxiety and promote comfort. Care plans are regularly reviewed in line with best practice guidance and in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.

Nursing Care

Our nursing unit provides 24-hour clinical care for residents with complex or long-term health conditions, including those requiring palliative care or regular medical oversight. All care is delivered by qualified nursing staff supported by experienced care assistants, with comprehensive handover and reporting procedures in place.

We accept people who are recovering from a hospital stay, as well as those living with progressive neurological conditions or multi-morbidity. Nursing care is supported by ongoing input from GPs, community nurses, and allied health professionals, ensuring a coordinated and responsive approach to each resident’s clinical needs.

Respite Care

Ashlea Court provides short-term respite placements to support hospital discharge, allow for recovery, or offer carers a planned break. Our respite service mirrors the quality of our long-term care, with full access to nursing and personal care, medication management, and dietary support.

We aim to make respite admissions as smooth as possible, with a structured onboarding process and clearly defined goals for each stay. Whether step-down from hospital care or a preventative measure to avoid admission, respite placements are an important part of our wider care offering and can also serve as a pathway to long-term residential or nursing care when needed.

To Make a Referral

Ashlea Court Care Home provides a flexible and responsive approach to both long- and short-term placements, including residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care. Our experienced team supports adults with a wide range of needs—from early-stage frailty to advanced dementia and complex nursing conditions.

We work closely with the person being referred, their family, and referring professionals to ensure our home is the right fit. Our assessment process is prompt and collaborative, helping to ensure a smooth, well-supported transition into our care. Referrals are reviewed by our team in a timely manner, and where appropriate, we carry out pre-admission assessments either in person or virtually to support continuity of care.

FAQ

How quickly can an assessment be carried out after a referral is made?

We aim to carry out assessments promptly after receiving a referral, typically within 48 to 72 hours, depending on the complexity and urgency of the case. Our team will liaise directly with you to agree a suitable time and method for the assessment—whether that’s in hospital, at home, or virtually.
